MP34U.COM To MP3JACKPOT.COM: How Dare You?

Today, MP34U.COM issued a statement that said their website is the longest running, largest, most popular MP3 blog on the Internet that has featured over 5,000 free MP3s available for download.

In an effort to set the record straight and keep peace in the MP3 Asylum, Matthew King Kaufman - Reigning Looney of the MP3 Lunatics - has issued the following statement in response to claims made by other MP3 blog sites (most notably the MP3JACKPOT.COM):

“MP34U.COM is the longest running, largest, most popular MP3 blog on the Internet. It was founded in 1999 and has been giving away MP3s since then.
MP3 4U has linked to over 5,000 free MP3s available for download. The site is organized by Sources who scour the WWW for the latest and greatest music being given away as a legal MP3. They post a brief description about each and every MP3 they’ve decided to add to their playlist. Once you find a Source you like, you’ll find a lot of great free music at your fingertips.”

Let’s hear what the MP3 4U Sources have to say:

Alien Protocol (333 MP3 posts): “This whole MP3 blog incident is appalling. Those industry type glory hogs at the MP3 Jackpot are always trying to steal our thunder. I know they’re fellow inmates here at the MP3 Asylum, but they just sit around and wait for us Sources to find the music, I search everyday to find the best music out there. MP3 4U posts at least 4 new MP3s a day. MP3 Jackpot only posts one new MP3 a day. What gives?

Din (294 MP3 posts): “I never thought fellow MP3 Asylum inmates would behave this poorly. There is no excuse for MP3JACKPOT.COM’s inaccurate press release. The Sources at MP3 4U have found many more MP3s than the Committee at the MP3 Jackpot. Those blowhards on the MP3 Jackpot Committee can’t even do simple math.  All the MP3s I’ve found are great! Most of my MP3s are from unknown-but-talented musicians who could really use the exposure. The record companies are coming out with such crap, I find these artists a welcome change.”

PJACTION (193 MP3 posts): “This is such BS! I never trusted those MP3 Jackpot Committee phonies anyway. They just leech off of our music discoveries. We rule the MP3 blog world!  The MP3s I’ve discovered at my MP3 4U page are all quality. I don’t need no Committee to tell me they’re good.”

Subverse (226 MP3 posts): “What UP?  Did the MP3 Jackpot lose sight of the facts? We started THEM. We feed THEM music. We do all the heavy lifting.

Mucster (218 MP3 posts): “Who needs the MP3 Jackpot? MP3 4U is all you need to find the real. There are over 55 MP3 4U Sources and only 6 MP3 Jackpot Committee members… who needs the straitjacket?”

can’t we all get a loon?

Fellow Inmates, As Reigning Looney, I’m trying my best to remain above the fray. A note to the MP34U Sources and MP3Jackpot Committee members who are slinging mud. If we’re going to continue down this devisive path of day and song counting, we’re going to lose control of the asylum. Our music lover’s playground grows bigger everyday, Chillllll….

Hear, hear. After all it’s about quality, not quantity. Which is why I am the best, of course.
